Licensed Blood Banks

At present, the accessibility and availability of safe blood is ensured through a network of 7(seven) licensed blood banks out of which 6(six) are NACO supported Blood Banks.

• BTS Programme:
• Launching extensive awareness programmes for donor IEC, motivation, recruitment and retention in order to ensure adequate availability of safe blood.
• Works in creating awareness on the harmful effects of collecting and receiving blood from Professional Blood Sellers.
• For appropriate clinical use of blood amongst the clinicians this has seen as a definite rise due to the increased component preparation and usage during seasonal epidemics, through training of clinicians on the rational use of blood.
• Organising Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in coordination with licensed blood banks in the state.
• Observation of special days such as World Blood Donor Day and National Voluntary Blood Donation Day at state level recognizing the contribution of repeat non-remunerated repeat voluntary blood donors and organisation.
